Three Kitchens with Personality.

All images House to Home

Which one of these kitchens would be your ideal look?

Kitchen one,  clean white subway tiles and industrial sized cooker ready to whip up a culinary master piece, with a  nod to yesteryear, in the form of  vintage signage, weigh scales and bread bin.
Kitchen two, hand made painted units, Belfast sink, open plan shelves filled with pretty containers all ready for tea and cakes with friends.
Or kitchen three, the bespoke Eco friendly option, reclaimed chunky wooden shelving, salvaged floor tiles and recycled  plywood doors.
I can't decide so I think I'd have a bit from all three, subway tiles on the walls, industrial lighting, white kitchen cupboard with wooden work tops  filled with vintage containers and that all important kitchen aid cake mixer at the ready. What do you think?

A little treat, a new cushion.

On Tuesday I was lucky enough to be treated to lunch by a friend, we had intended to  just pop into a coffee shop for a sandwich and a cuppa, but as her Hubby was away diving in Egypt, she decided that we would be 'Ladies that Lunch' so we enjoyed a  two course luncheon at our local garden Center which has recently undergone a little make over (sorry I didn't take any photos, maybe next time) we had prawn and salmon risotto in a creamy sauce, followed by wild berry creme caramel, it was rather delicious (the diet starts soon)

After our little indulgence, we took a stroll around the Garden Center  and I found the perfect star cushion that I just had to have for the living room, because you can never have too many cushions can you, though my Hubby would disagree, but as I used gift vouchers to purchase this one, I didn't feel the urge to hide it for a few weeks before placing it on the sofa and announcing ' this cushion?  oh  we've   had it for ages

Today while tinkering around with my camera and taking a few shots of my lovely new cushion i decided to Google the name on the label, Au Maison, have you heard of them,  they are a Danish Company that sells the most lovely accessories and furniture for the home, rustic, Bohemia, country, in fact a little bit of everything. I think I'm smitten.

Spring flower displays

I have a confession to make - I have never been very good at growing and  looking after house plants, I always manage to kill them off, which is one of the reasons that I prefer a pretty bunch of fresh cut flowers, much easier to look after, and  great for adding instant colour and cheer to a room,  and this time of year there are plenty to choose from.  Do you have favorite flower?  For me certain flowers remind me of certain things or people, carnations remind me of my Hubby and how he use to buy me little bunches when we where first dating,  my Mum use to love roses and we always had rose bushes growing in the garden, (I didn't inherent her green fingers) and tulips - well tulips from Amsterdam, though I have never been, its just that saying.

Do you have a favorite way of displaying your flowers,  a certain vase or pretty jug that you like to use? Above are few ways of displaying your blooms, I think the tea cup would look pretty on a bed side table, or a bathroom window maybe, in any case a bunch of flowers always make a person and a room feel special don't they.

A little change, and some weekend finds...

Well happy weekend all, its been a glorious spring day here in Jersey today, blue skies and sunshine, just what I need, some rays on my face, and with my spring buys yesterday and spring weather today I decided to have a little update colour wise on the blog, (if you stopped by earlier it was pale pink for a while) nothing too drastic, just something a little lighter and brighter.
