Dress those walls.

When it comes to decorating, I flirt with the idea of Wallpaper even going so far as ordering samples, but its a fleeting affair, preferring to stick to paint as I like to keep my options open, and paint is soo easy to change at the drop of a paint can.  but I have to say that I may be getting charmed once more by the recent fashions and developments in wallpaper.

Take for instance wallpaperdirect,  for Autumn, they will be launching a whole collection of wallpaper populated by people! As the company’s wall coverings expert Melanie Adams explains, "the fascination with people watching has translated into our interiors and continues to grow in popularity"

“The Ferm Living’s Fashion range of wallpaper and vinyl wall stickers focuses on slick silhouettes of posing models to create a strong monochromatic effect that would look great in a dressing room. For brighter accents, the soon to be launched range from Paper Moon injects some true colour into your walls, with designs such as ruby-toned Make Up, showing women with big sunglasses and even bigger hair, and Pets, a pale yellow wall covering of people parading their animal companions.”

For those of you who, like me just can't go all the way with wallpaper, try the cute wall stickers, these owls are just so cute!
So how about you, wallpaper, or paint.

Spotting a trend.

I have noticed that advertising posters are making there way onto the walls of our homes more so lately, anything from movie star bill board posters of Audrey Hepburn films, to 70s sun tanning creams. If you can get the real thing all the better, and great places to look for them are in auctions, charity/thrift shops, and house clearance sales. The top poster (above) is from an online shop called Zazzle and has a large selection of advertising style posters. well worth a ganders.
A few years back we went to visit Annecy in France, very beautiful place to visit, right on the lake, and i remember seeing lots of skiing posters around as souvenirs, I only wish I had bought some home with me. St. Malo too also usually has pretty advertising posters pasted to the walls of the streets and shops, there is always something going on in the summer months to be advertising about, next time I go over I will see if I can peel one or two off the walls and bring them home.
What about you, do you have any fab posters on your walls at home, maybe something picked up from your holidays, or found in a thrift shop?

Interior Trends 2010

When it comes to walls in 2010 i think we will be seeing alot more brick, exposed or painted brick work will be the feature wall choice of many, adding interest and texture to rooms giving it a chic rough feel, slightly industrial/mill house feel but teamed with chic individual furnishing.

Abigail Ahern

This Autumn Orange is set to be the colour of the moment, a joyful slightly cheeky colour I think, not one to be ignored, use it as a quick pick me up in a room, or team burnt orange with grey for a more softer look, go pale peach for a feminine feel, or really go for it with bright energetic zingy orange.
