Mag of the month

Is it just me, or is 2010 galloping by at a fast rate of knots? I can't believe that I have just bought the April issue of Livingetc Magazine! which means we live in hope of spring soon, so grab yourself a bunch of spring flowers and make like a florist following the styling tips for flowers on page 142.
I'm sensing a rival of bugs and things under glass, collections of items show cased a-la museum like-style, Victorian eccentricity at its best, or worst depending on how you feel about dead things in glass cases, not for me really, but what I am loving is the free extract of Sibella court's latest book Etcetera, and if the extract is anything to go by, then the book is going to be fabulous.
If your idea of living is minimal then her style will be your worst nightmare! It truly is a feast for your eyes.
If your looking to add a bit of pattern into your home, then check out some great idea for adding pops of pattern and colour into your home this spring. (page 49)
livingetc, its got it all this month.

Magazine of The Month

I'm back with The Magazine of the Month, which I have missed doing so far this Year! yes I know...slacker! but looking at my magazine pile I see that Livingetc seems to be a favourite at the moment, I have January, February, and I have just bought the March edition which as usual is jam packed with loads of inspiration and trends to look out for for 2010, from the 21st century take on Victorian, to the pale pastels of an ice cream parlour. Personally I can't say I'm keen on either if I'm honest, but what did catch my eye was the floor lamp below which is from Tesco, talk about supermarket chic! I really love this lamp. Supermarkets and budget stores are really pulling out all the stops when It comes to stylish items for the home.

The other thing that I fell in love with is the lovely wallpaper from Osborne and Little which adorn the walls (below) of writer and stylist, Laura Campbell and her Husband Adam Hall. In fact I love the whole room, i think this will end up in one of my Finding my own style files that are growing in size!

Magazine of the Month

Moving Home? read on........
Click photo to visit site
This months Magazine is slightly different from the usually as its not one that you will find on the shelves in your local supper market, Exchanged is a biannual magazine published in March and September produced in association with The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and is distributed through members of the RICS for their clients, that being home buyers. The magazine is described as "The definitive guide to moving home” and aims to help house buyers plan and select their moving and refurbishment needs, exploring home design, style and practical challenges.
I have been given the Autumn/winter 2009 addition to have a look through, and if you are planning on buying a home, it s full of very useful information from understanding exactly what you are signing up for when you get a mortgage, to making your mark on your new home, plus there is a whole section by kelly Hoppen giving you advice on the interior of your home, and show casing her own famous elegant style, and about how she combines her Notting Hill shop with her design studio and interiors school.
The best bit is that you can get all this info on the website at http://www.exchangedonline.com/
